(II) Supporting in the development of a flexible application processing and workflow management system for digitalising the administration of all the existing and future research funding schemes of Research Grants Council (RGC). Duties - Serve a contract assignment under InfoTech's headcount, full-time second to serve the UGC; (I) For the existing systems, the duties include the following: 1. Perform routine maintenance on the existing electronic system to ensure optimal performance and reliability; 2. Identify and troubleshoot system issues, implementing solutions to resolve problems promptly and minimize downtime; 3. Add, modify, and enhance system functions based on user feedback and evolving requirements to improve overall system functionality; 4. Provide user support for daily operations, assisting staff with system-related inquiries and resolving operational challenges; 5. Work closely with subject teams in the Department and business users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction; (II) To assist with the new system project, including system analysis and design (SA&D), programming, implementation, data migration, testing, system monitoring, and maintenance. Detail of the duties include: 1. Carry out quality control and quality assurance, to scrutinize project reports and specifications; 2. Assist in gathering user requirements and conducting related analysis; 3. Assist in data migration from legacy systems to the new platform, ensuring data integrity and accuracy; 4. Conduct thorough data checks to verify that migrated data is complete and correctly formatted; 5. To assist in the system/UAT testing; Yrs of Total Post-Quali Exp 8.0 Yrs of Relevant Exp 5.0 Requirements 1. Have a bachelor degree in Computer Sciences or related disciplines 2. Have good written skills in Chinese and English and fluent in these spoken languages 3. Proficient in SQL, with the ability to write complex queries and optimize database performance 4. Strong skills in Java and JSP for developing and enhancing web applications 5. Experience with WildFly application server for deploying and managing Java applications 6. Proficiency in both MySQL and MSSQL database management systems, including installation, configuration, and maintenance 7. Familiarity with Linux operating systems, including command-line usage and basic system administration tasks 8. Experience in data migration and data synchronization between systems is highly preferable, ensuring data consistency and integrity 9. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment 10. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, effectively communicating technical concepts to non-technical user 11. Have project development experience in funding scheme system is an advantage 12. Quick to respond to user requests, demonstrating a solid understanding of their needs and providing timely solutions 13. Preference will be given to those who have working experience in the HKSAR Government projects Technical Skills: . At least 5 years' experience in JAVA Programming (JAV); . At least 5 years' experience in Java Servlet Programming (JSP); . At least 5 years' experience in JavaScript Programming (JAP); . At least 5 years' experience in Structured Query Language (SQL); . At least 4 years' experience in MySQL (MSQ); . 5 years' experience in IT Application Development and Management (ADM) is an advantage; . 5 years' experience in HTML version before HTML5 (HTM) is an advantage; . 5 years' experience in Java Application Framework (e.g. Struts (Apache)) (JAF) is an advantage; . 5 years' experience in System Implementation and Maintenance/Support (SIM) is an advantage; . 1 year's experience in Windows Server 2008/2012 (W12) is an advantage; . 1 year's experience in JBoss Application Server (JAS) is an advantage; . 1 year's experience in Apache Web Server (AWS) is an advantage; . 1 year's experience in Data Management (DMT) is an advantage; . 1 year's experience in Microsoft SQL Server (MSS) is an advantage; . 1 year's experience in SQL*PLUS/PL/SQL/PRO*C (OPL) is an advantage. Non-technical Skills: . At least 1 year's experience in software testing (STM); . At least 6 months' experience in project development in specified business areas (PDE); . 3 years' experience in work with the Government (GOV) is an advantage. - Bachelor's degree/Higher Diploma in Computer Science, IT or equivalent; - At least 8 years' post-qualification experience in which at least 5 years' relevant experience in a similar post and in a comparable capacity.
