Job Key No 38569 Job Title/ Category Contract Systems Analyst (Bid Ref 59078-1) Number Of Vacancy 1 Relevant Field Others Nature Contract Deadline 24 Mar 2026 Contract Period 13 Apr 2026 to 12 Oct 2026 (6 months) Payroll under InfoTech Employer Business Government T26 Contract Location Base Tsim Sha Tsui Work in Guangdong Province N/A Monthly Salary Range HK$ N/A - N/A Project Nature (T26) Design and implement the IT infrastructures and enhance system resilience of the WMO Severe Weather Information Centre (SWIC), the World Weather Information Service (WWIS), the Global Multi-Hazard Alert System for Asia (GMAS-A), and the Regional Specialized Meteorological Centre (RSMC) for Nowcasting Duties - Serve a contract assignment under InfoTech's headcount, full-time second to serve the HKO; The CSA is required to take up the following tasks during the contract period: 1. review and design of the computing and storage facilities for operating SWIC, WWIS, GMAS-A and RSMC for Nowcasting; 2. conducting research and evaluation on different high availability architectures to enhance system resilience and ensure seamless operations; 3. review and design of the overall architectures of the software modules in SWIC, WWIS, GMAS-A and RSMC for Nowcasting, including software frameworks to be adopted for data processing, system monitoring and workflow management; 4. carrying out market survey to identify potential supplies of the required computing and storage equipment; and 5. prepare documentation and handover to HKO staff for implementation of SWIC, WWIS, GMAS-A and RSMC for Nowcasting on the new IT infrastructures. Yrs of Total Post-Quali Exp 5.0 Yrs of Relevant Exp 1.0 Requirements 1) Proficiency and experience in design and implementation of IT system for weather information processing and prediction, including setup, configuration, and optimization of server systems; 2) Proficiency in system integration, exceptional handling, unit test, reliability test; 3) Proficiency in application development using Node.js, PHP, MySQL, Unix/Linux shell scripting and Oracle Database on Linux platform; 4) Proficiency in web development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript; 5) Experience in version control tools such as Gitlab or GitHub; 6) Experience in working with HKO is preferred. A criminal record check will be required and the offer is subject to the results of the criminal record check. Technical Skills: . At least 5 years' experience in JavaScript Programming (JAP); . At least 5 years' experience in Unix/Linux Shell Scripting (ULS); . At least 5 years' experience in Web Programming (WEB); . At least 4 years' experience in Apache Web Server (AWS); . At least 2 years' experience in JAVA Programming (JAV); . At least 2 years' experience in HTML5 (HT5); . At least 2 years' experience in Structured Query Language (SQL); . 1 year's experience in Linux System Administration (LIN) is an advantage; . 1 year's experience in Object-oriented Analysis and Design (OOA) is an advantage; . 1 year's experience in C++ (C++) is an advantage; . 1 year's experience in Data Administration (DAM) is an advantage; . 6 months' experience in System Backup Operation (BKO) is an advantage; . 6 months' experience in Infrastructure (INF) is an advantage. Non-technical Skills: . At least 2 years' experience in work with the Government (GOV); . 1 year's experience in people management (PMG) is an advantage; . 1 year's experience in project management (PRM) is an advantage; . 1 year's experience in software testing (STM) is an advantage. - Bachelor's degree/Higher Diploma in Computer Science, IT or equivalent; - At least 5 years' post-qualification experience in which at least 1 year's relevant experience in a similar post and in a comparable capacity.
