| Duties |
- Serve a contract assignment under InfoTech's headcount, full-time second to serve the HKO;
The Contract Analyst Programmer (CAP) will provide programming support to assist in the development of AWFS software modules and their implementation on the new computing platform (the System).
The CAPs are required to take up the following tasks during the contract period:
1. develop new post-processing algorithms in XFS for generating probabilistic forecasts and guidance on extreme weather;
2. extend the AWF portal with new guidance product on extreme weather prediction in XFS;
3. develop an integrated platform for the visualization of AWFS data products including OCF, AWF and XFS;
4. optimize data flow in AWFS and implement monitoring dashboard for processing of NWP / EPS model data, product generation, and dissemination to users with quality control of forecast products;
5. set up and conduct integration tests, perform real-time trials, evaluate data product availability, and verify performance of AWFS products; and
6. provide nursing service, project reports / documentations and conducting handover with training to HKO staff.

| Requirements |
Applicant should refer to the Technical Requirements (mandatory and optional) for fulfilling job duties.
1. Proficiency in software application development using JavaScript, web programming frameworks and database (MySQL/SQL).
2. Good knowledge and experience in various programming languages and environments, including Linux/UNIX shell scripting and Python.
3. Experience in Git and GitLab for software development and version control would be an advantage.
A criminal record check will be required and the offer is subject to the results of the criminal record check.
Technical Skills:
. At least 3 years' experience in JavaScript Programming (JAP);
. At least 3 years' experience in Web Programming (WEB);
. At least 3 years' experience in Web Hosting, Design and Maintenance (WED);
. At least 2 years' experience in Rapid Application Development Methodology (RAD);
. At least 2 years' experience in Unix/Linux Shell Scripting (ULS);
. At least 2 years' experience in Linux System Administration (LIN);
. At least 2 years' experience in Multi-tier System Integration (MSI);
. At least 2 years' experience in Object-oriented Analysis and Design (OOA);
. At least 2 years' experience in business intelligence/data mining (BDM);
. At least 2 years' experience in batch job monitoring (BJM);
. At least 2 years' experience in Data Architecture (DAR);
. At least 2 years' experience in Data Management (DMT);
. At least 2 years' experience in HTML5 (HT5);
. At least 1.5 years' experience in MySQL (MSQ);
. At least 1.5 years' experience in JAVA Programming (JAV);
. At least 1.5 years' experience in Structured Query Language (SQL);
. At least 6 months' experience in System Implementation and Maintenance/Support (SIM);
. At least 6 months' experience in PHP programming (PHP);
. At least 6 months' experience in Proxy Server (PRS);
. At least 6 months' experience in Geographic Information System (GIS);
. 1 year's experience in IT Planning (ITP) is an advantage;
. 1 year's experience in Document Flow/Workflow Management System (DOC) is an advantage;
. 6 months' experience in Data Administration (DAM) is an advantage;
. 6 months' experience in Apache Web Server (AWS) is an advantage;
. 6 months' experience in Oracle Application Development (ORA) is an advantage.
Non-technical Skills:
. At least 6 months' experience in work with the Government (GOV);
. 1 year's experience in software testing (STM) is an advantage.
- Bachelor's degree/Higher Diploma in Computer Science, IT or equivalent;
- At least 3 years' post-qualification experience in which at least 1 year's relevant experience in a similar post and in a comparable capacity.
