Duties - Serve a contract assignment under InfoTech's headcount, full-time second to serve the E&MSD; 1. Operate computer and associated systems/facilities according to prescribed standards and procedures, monitor system performance, provide system operation support and maintenance; 2. Prepare jobs according to prescribed procedures, ensure their successful completion, perform completeness and qualities check of computer output; 3. Provide first line support to users and perform help desk activities using assigned tools, carry out on-site inspection, and take recovery action if needed as according to prescribed procedures; 4. Assist in setting up workstation or networked equipment, including scheduling and monitoring of installation/relocation of computer equipment, and carrying out site inspection/preparation work; 5. Handle logging and administrative reporting as according to prescribed requirements and assist in preparation of statistics and reports; Yrs of Total Post-Quali Exp 4.0 Yrs of Relevant Exp 3.0 Requirements 1. Solid experiences in administration of Microsoft Windows platforms and PC support; 2. Experience in administration of Linux and/or UNIX platforms required; 3. Solid shift duty work experience (including overnight shift) required; 4. Work on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, and/or during adverse weather conditions such as when typhoon signal no. 8 or above is hoisted (Government shuttle service provided) may be required as assigned; 5. Good understanding and hands-on experience of Observatory operations and support required. Technical Skills: . At least 5 years' experience in batch job monitoring (BJM); . At least 5 years' experience in PC LAN Support (PLS); . At least 4 years' experience in Microsoft Active Directory Administration (ADA); . At least 4 years' experience in System Backup Operation (BKO); . At least 4 years' experience in Experience in Datacentre Maintenance (DCM); . At least 3 years' experience in System Implementation and Maintenance/Support (SIM); . At least 2.5 years' experience in Lotus Notes Mail Admin. & Technical Support (LNM); . At least 2 years' experience in UNIX (UNX). Non-technical Skills: . At least 4 years' experience in helpdesk call handling (HDT); . At least 4 years' experience in shift work (SFT); . At least 3 years' experience in customer service (CLS); . At least 2 years' experience in work with the Government (GOV); . At least 2 years' experience in the management and support of Government systems and services (GSS). - At least Level 2 or above in 5 subjects including Chinese and English Language in HKDSEE or Grade E or above in 5 subjects, including Chinese and English Language (Syl B) in HKCEE or equivalent; - At least 4 years' post-qualification experience in which at least 3 years' relevant experience in a similar post and in a comparable capacity.
