Job Key No 29646 Job Title/ Category Contract Analyst Programmer (Bid Ref 51090-1) Number Of Vacancy 1 Relevant Field Others Nature Contract Deadline 17 Sep 2024 Contract Period 02 Oct 2024 to 01 Oct 2025 (12 months) Payroll under InfoTech Employer Business Government T26 Contract Location Base Tsim Sha Tsui Monthly Salary Range HK$ N/A - N/A Project Nature (T26) Enhancement of model data post-processing software modules for supporting the Automatic Weather Forecast Services (AWFS) Duties - Serve a contract assignment under InfoTech's headcount, full-time second to serve the HKO; The Contract Analyst Programmer (CAP) will provide programming support to assist in the development of IT infrastructure for supporting AWFS and their implementation on the new computing platform (the System). The CAP is required to take up the following tasks during the contract period: 1. carry out programming work to enhance the efficiency of AWFS, and deploy the software to the System; 2. implement AI/ML algorithms for post-processing of NWP / EPS model data with the use of upgraded graphical processing capability of the System; 3. implement data flow design in AWFS, workflow management of software modules to improve monitoring of data processing, product generation, quality control of outputs, and user dissemination; 4. set up a cloud platform as a hot spare for pre-processing NWP model data and generating AWFS products, ensuring continuous product availability; 5. conduct integration tests, perform real-time trials, evaluate product availability, and verify performance of AWFS products; and 6. provide nursing service, project reports, documentations and conducting handover with training to HKO staff. Yrs of Total Post-Quali Exp 3.0 Yrs of Relevant Exp 1.0 Requirements Applicant should refer to the Technical Requirements (mandatory and optional) for fulfilling job duties. 1. Proficiency in software application development using JavaScript, web programming frameworks and database (MySQL/SQL). 2. Good knowledge and experience in various programming languages and environments, including Linux/UNIX shell scripting and Python. 3. Experience in Git and GitLab for software development and version control would be an advantage. A criminal record check will be required and the offer is subject to the results of the criminal record check. Technical Skills: . At least 1 year's experience in JavaScript Programming (JAP); . At least 1 year's experience in Structured Query Language (SQL); . At least 1 year's experience in Unix/Linux Shell Scripting (ULS); . At least 1 year's experience in Web Programming (WEB); . 1 year's experience in JAVA Programming (JAV) is an advantage; . 1 year's experience in Document Flow/Workflow Management System (DOC) is an advantage; . 1 year's experience in Geographic Information System (GIS) is an advantage; . 1 year's experience in HTML5 (HT5) is an advantage; . 1 year's experience in Object-oriented Analysis and Design (OOA) is an advantage; . 6 months' experience in Apache Web Server (AWS) is an advantage; . 6 months' experience in Data Administration (DAM) is an advantage; . 6 months' experience in Linux System Administration (LIN) is an advantage. Non-technical Skill: . 1 year's experience in software testing (STM) is an advantage. - Bachelor's degree/Higher Diploma in Computer Science, IT or equivalent; - At least 3 years' post-qualification experience in which at least 1 year's relevant experience in a similar post and in a comparable capacity.
